Persian Gulf (December 2nd, 1997) On board the nuclear powered aircraft
carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). . . .Lieutenant Steve Nevarez,
from Houston, Texas, takes a short break from the stress of flight deck
operations atop a F-14B Tomcat strike fighter assigned to Fighter
Squadron One Zero Two (VF-102). George Washington and VF-102 are
currently conducting operations in the Persian Gulf in support of UN
sanctions against Iraq, under operation Southern Watch. U.S. Navy
