At sea aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) Aug. 14,
2002 -- The Landing Signals Officer prepares to give the signal to
launch An F-14B “Tomcat” assigned to the "Red Rippers" of
Fighter Squadron One One (VF 11). Launching from the flight deck
of USS John F. Kennedy, the Tomcat is returning to NAS Oceana prior to
the homecoming of Carrier Air Wing Seven (CVW 7) August 14, 2002.
The Kennedy and CVW 7 are returning home after a six-month deployment
in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. U.S Navy photo by
