Arabian Gulf  (Jun. 4, 2004) -- Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class Thomas Blair Jr. of Houston, signals for the aircrew to raise their hands while ordnancemen check all ordnance on an F-14B Tomcat assigned to the "Pukin' Dogs" of Fighter Squadron One Four Three (VF-143) prior to launching from one of four steam powered catapults aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73). Washington joined six other aircraft carrier strike groups (CSG) in Summer Pulse 2004. Summer Pulse 2004 is the simultaneous deployment of seven aircraft carrier strike groups (CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat power across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and coalition military forces.
