Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., is the home of the 28th Bomb Wing and its fleet of B-1B Lancer bombers.  Their mission is to provide rapid, decisive, sustainable combat air power around the globe. The B-1 is the backbone of America's long-range bomber force providing massive and rapid delivery of precision and non-precision weapons against any potential adversary.  After landing from a training mission a B-1 is prepared for towing to its parking place by maintenance airmen with the 77th Bomb Squadron on Jan 9, 2002.  (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt.
