Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., is the home of the 28th Bomb Wing and
its fleet of B-1B Lancer bombers. Their mission is to provide
rapid, decisive, sustainable combat air power around the globe. The B-1
is the backbone of America's long-range bomber force providing massive
and rapid delivery of precision and non-precision weapons against any
potential adversary. A B-1B from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas,
gets a once over by maintainers from the 28th BW on Jan 9, 2002.
