A head-on view of two United States Air Forces Europe A-10 Warthogs moments before dropping away from the tanker aircraft for a strike on targets in the former Yugoslavia.  The Warthogs are flying a combat strike mission in support of NATO Operation Allied Force.  The venerable A-10 'Tank Killers' are loaded with a variety of weapons to include 250-pound iron bombs, an ALQ-131 electronic jamming pod, 2.75 inch Zuni rockets and  AGM-65D Maverick missiles.  All in addition to the 30-mm cannon mounted in the nose of the aircraft.  The A-10A's are assigned to the 52nd Fighter Wing / 81st Fighter Squadron, Spangdhalem Air Base, Germany but are flying missions from their deployed location of Aviano Air Base, Italy.  (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Greg L.
