Caption:

An Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft is hidden by smoke from its 30mm Gatling gun as it fires at anti-coalition militia who have taken refuge on a mountain in central Afghanistan.  The aircraft was supporting elements of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) who engaged ACM forces during two days of heavy fighting that left three Marines lightly wounded and at least 25 ACM fighters killed.
