At sea aboard USS Bataan (LHD 5) Mar. 5, 2003 -- An AV-8B Harrier launches from the fight deck of the amphibious assault ship in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and the continuing war on terrorism.  Bataan and her embarked Marines are components of Amphibious Task Force East (ATF-E).  The ship and crew left Norfolk, Va., for an unscheduled deployment in support of the global war on terrorism.  This is the ship's third deployment since itÕs commissioning in September 1997.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 1st Class Jimmy D.
