during Deck Landing Qualifications Oct 11. Essex is participating
in Blue-Greens Workups, which is a semiannual joint exercise between
the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and the 31st Marine Expeditionary
Unit. The exercise provides the Blue-Green team an opportunity to
familiarize the individual units with each other’s procedures,
enabling all the ships and units to operate as one cohesive unit.
