Red Sea (Jan. 5, 2004) -- A U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier launches from the flight deck aboard USS Peleliu (LHA 5).  The Harrier is the primary close air support, intermediate range intercept and attack fixed-wing aircraft for the U.S. Marines.  The amphibious assault ship Peleliu is the lead ship for Expeditionary Strike Group One (ESG-1) currently on a regular scheduled deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the continued war on terrorism.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate Airman Jeffrey J.
