Virginia Coast (Mar. 17, 2004) -- Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate James Hood, of Cleveland, Ohio, gives the signal to an AV-8B Harrier jump jet assigned to the "Bulldogs" of Marine Attack Squadron Two Two Three (VMA-223) to launch off the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2).
