Cherry Point, N.C. (May 7, 2005) -- An AV-8B Harrier II, assigned to the "Tigers" of Marine Attack Squadron Five Four Two (VMA-542), takes off near vertically during its flight demonstration at the 2005 Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point air show. The AV-8B is a high performance, single-engine, single-seat, Vertical/Short Take-off and Landing (V/STOL) attack aircraft. This year's air show showcased civilian and military aircraft from the Nation's armed forces, which provided many flight demonstrations and static displays.
