PERSIAN GULF (Sept. 15, 2007) -- Members of the flight deck crew aboard amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) observe as an AV-8B Harrier assigned to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit's (MEU) Air Combat Element lands on the flight deck. Marines and equipment from the 13th MEU returned to Bonhomme Richard, following a 3.5-month tour providing assault support, close-air support, heavy lift capabilities, as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance for the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Forward in the Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group is conducting maritime operations in 5th Fleet.
