The real competition begins as a C-130 aircraft assigined to the 516th
Regiment, 195th Air Mobility Wing, Egypt, releases a pallet over the
mark on the drop zone. The team will try to deploy a heavy pallet
from their C-130 aircraft, to fall on an exact spot at the drop
zone as the scoring begins during Rodeo '98 competition at
McChord, Air Force Base, Wash. This is the first time a team from
Egypt has participated in the competition. They hope to win one
of the coveted Rodeo trophies during this years competition. The crew
from the C-130 is being scored on time, accuracy and safety procedures
during this portion of the competition. Rodeo is a international
tanker, airlift competition held by the United States Air Force Air
Mobility Command, wherethe best tanker and airlift crews from around
the world come to compete agianst one another for a trophy and bragging
rights that they are the best in the world until the next Rodeo in two
years when another crew will try to knock them from the top spot.
