A C-130 Hercules from the 302nd Airlift Wing, Colorado Springs, Colo.,
gets a fresh charge of Phos-Chek fire retardant. This view shows the
spouts of the Modular Airlift Fire Fighting System (MAFFS). The
Phos-Chek is being used on the Manter Fire in the Sequoia National
Forest, Calif. The 302nd is deployed to a forward operating location at
Channel Island Air National Guard Station. The wing is one of four
military organizations that responds to the Department of Agriculture
and U.S.Forest Service call for support to supress large natural or
