Virginia Beach, Va. (Sept. 17, 2005) - The U.S. Marine Corps C-130
Hercules, "Fat Albert," assigned to the U.S. Navy "Blue Angels" flight
demonstration team, uses Jet Assisted Take Off (JATO) bottles during
takeoff at the 2005 Naval Air Station Oceana Air Show. Fat Albert
kicks-off each show with an assisted takeoff, demonstrating the C-130's
ability to get airborne in minimal time and distance, simulating
conditions in hostile environments and on short, unprepared runways.
The air show, held Sept. 16-18th, showcased civilian and military
aircraft from the Nation's armed forces, which provided many flight
demonstrations and static displays. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's
