Clark Air Field, Philippines (AFPN)- An MC-130H Talon II aircraft from
the 353rd Special Operations Group, Kadena Air Base, Japan, taxi by
Mount Arayat after returning from an air drop mission during
exercise Balikatan 2000 here. The aircraft dropped US and Philippine
military parachuters at a drop zone near the airfield. The purpose of
the exercise is to improve the Philippines/US combined planning, combat
readiness and interoperability. Balikatan 2000 will also enhance
security relations and demonstrate US resolve to support the
Philippines against external aggression through training in
joint/combined operations conduct other related activities consistent
