Northern Pacific Ocean (Jun. 16, 2004) -- Repair party members discuss
tactics while getting dressed out in firefighting gear during a General
Quarters (GQ) drill in the hangar bay aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN

train them in emergency situations. Stennis and embarked Carrier Air
Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are currently at sea participating in a
regularly scheduled deployment. Stennis is also one of seven aircraft
carriers involved in Summer Pulse 2004. Summer Pulse 2004 is the
simultaneous deployment of seven aircraft carrier strike groups (CSGs),
demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat power
across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and
coalition military forces. Summer Pulse is the NavyÕs first
