KITTY HAWK (CV 63), At Sea (Feb. 14 2005) -- Members of the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) watch an E-2C Hawkeye from Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 115 as it approaches for a landing on the flight deck flight USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63).  Tours of Kitty Hawk are conducted to raise awareness of 7th Fleet missions and the importance of forward-deployed naval forces.  Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Tommy Umholtz (RELEASED)
