Persian Gulf (April 21, 2005) - An E-2C Hawkeye, assigned to the
"Golden Hawks" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One One Two
(VAW-112), is directed onto a steam-powered catapult prior to launch
from the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The
Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is conducting operations in support of
multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in the
Persian Gulf. Carl Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport shift
to Norfolk, Va., and will conduct a three-year refuel and complex
