Persian Gulf (June 3, 2005) - Two flight deck "shooters" gives the
clear to launch signal as an E-2C Hawkeye assigned the "Golden Hawks"
of Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Two Two (VAW-112) launch from
the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl
Vinson (CVN 70). The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently
deployed in support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime
security operations in order to set the conditions for security and
stability in the region. Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport
shift to Norfolk, Va., and commence a three-year refuel and complex
