At sea aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) Feb. 15, 2003 -- The Navy’s largest First Navy Jack, with the motto “Don’t Tread On Me”, flies high above an E-2C Hawkeye belonging to the “Liberty Bells” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One One Five (VAW-115), while transiting through the Straits of Malacca. Kitty Hawk and embarked Carrier Air Wing 5 (CVW-5) were recently ordered to the Central Command area of responsibility to join coalition forces preparing for possible operations in that area. Kitty Hawk is America’s longest-serving active warship and the world’s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating out of Yokosuka, Japan.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer’s Mate 3rd Class Todd Frantom.
