Atlantic Ocean (April 18, 2005) -- Sailors assigned to the Crash and Salvage Division aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69), watch as an E-2C+ Hawkeye, assigned to the "Screwtops" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Two Three (VAW-123), prepares to land on the shipÕs flight deck. The E-2C+ Hawkeye is modified with the eight-bladed NP2000 propeller. The new propeller, made by Hamilton-Sundstrand, increases performance and safety along with better maintenance techniques. Eisenhower is currently underway conducting routine operations in the Atlantic Ocean after a four-year mid-life overhaul.
