At sea aboard USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3) Oct. 15, 2002 -- Aviation Boatswain's Mate Reycard A. Abrenilla from Chico, Guam, directs a CH-46 Sea Knight as it drops off 12,800 pounds of supplies for the amphibious assault ship during a vertical replenishment (VERTREP) at sea. Belleau Wood carries a crew of 1,000 Sailors and more than 2,000 Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Special Operations Capable (SOC) and is the lead element of a three-ship Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG).  The ship can use a combination of helicopters, AV-8B Harriers aircraft and amphibious landing craft to send and support Marines ashore during combat and humanitarian operations.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Alan Meza.  (RELEASED)
