A flightline mechanic signals a CH-46E Sea Knight pilot as he taxis to his takeoff point further down a runway in the twilight hours of April 5. The helicopter's aircrew received a call for casualty evacuation in one of the cities of the Sunni Triangle. The helicopter and crew belong to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 161, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., which has the mission of CASEVAC in the region.
