New Orleans (Sept. 5, 2005) - A U.S. Marine Corps CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter, assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron Three Six Five (HMM-365), departs Naval Air Station New Orleans to conduct search and rescue operations in the vicinity of New Orleans. The Marine Corp’s involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
