After dropping off Marines at a nearby landing zone a CH-53E passes over 2nd platoon. Kilo Comapny, 3rd. Battalion 8th Marines, as they march on snowshoes to a nearby bivouc site.  2nd Marine Regiment and 3rd Battalion 8th Marines based out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina spent 34 days at the Mountain Warfare Training Center, Bridgeport, Ca.  In which time they received instruction in cold weather survival training, and artic warfare.  Official U.S. Marine Corps photograph by LCpl.
