Persian Gulf (Jan. 11, 2005) - Marines, assigned to the 15th Marine
Expeditionary Unit (MEU), ground the tow hook of an CH-53E Super
Stallion helicopter, assigned to the "White Knights" of Marine Medium
Helicopter Squadron One Six Five (HMM-165), before lifting a SH-60F
Seahawk helicopter for transport. The SH-60F Seahawk, assigned to the
"Golden Falcons" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Two (HS-2), made
an emergency landing in a rice patty at Muda Air Base, Banda Aceh,
Sumatra, carrying ten U.S Navy personnel. Only two personnel were
injured and were flown to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme
Richard (LHD 6) for treatment. Helicopters assigned to Carrier Air Wing
Two (CVW-2) and Sailors from USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) are
supporting Operation Unified Assistance, the humanitarian operation
effort in the wake of the Tsunami that struck South East Asia. The
Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently operating in the
Indian Ocean off the waters of Indonesia and Thailand. U.S. Navy photo
