Indian Ocean (Jan. 22, 2005) - Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class
Valdez of Corpus Christi, Texas, gathers his communications cord prior
to lift off from the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft
carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Helicopters and Sailors assigned
to the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) Carrier Strike Group are supporting
Operation Unified Assistance, the humanitarian operation effort in the
wake of the Tsunami that struck South East Asia. The Abraham Lincoln
Carrier Strike Group is currently operating in the Indian Ocean off the
