PACIFIC OCEAN (May 29, 2008) -- An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the "Blue Diamonds" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 146 launches off the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 are conducting tailored ship's training availability (TSTA) off the coast of Southern California. TSTA is a three-phase evolution that incrementally enhances the ship's operating proficiency while simultaneously integrating the air wing.
