EXERCISE TANDEM THRUST 2001, ROCKHAMPTON, QUEENSLAND, Australia  --  Capt. Keri May, attatched to VMFA(AW) 533, fills out a post flight report after flying her F/A-18 Hornet into Rockhampton Airport for Exercise Tandem Thrust.  The Hornet is a carrier based strike fighter used by the U.S. Marines to provide close air support for ground forces.  Tandem Thrust is a combined United States and Australian military training exercise. This biannual exercise is being held in the vicinity of Shoalwater Bay training area, Queensland, Australia. More than 27,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Airman and Marines are participating, with Canadian units taking part as opposing forces. Tandem Thrust is a training exercise for crisis action planning and execution for contingency response operations.  PHOTOGRAPH CLEARED FOR RELEASE BY Capt. Jeffrey S.
