Atlantic Ocean (Jun. 18, 2004) -- Aviation Structural Mechanic Airmen
Felix Gonzalez, from Fresno, Calif., and Jonathan Leonard, from
Lexington, N.C., wash an F/A-18 Hornet assigned to the "Sidewinders" of
Strike Fighter Squadron Eight Six (VFA-86) on the flight deck of the
aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Enterprise is currently
underway in support of Summer Pulse 2004 Exercise. Summer Pulse 2004 is
the simultaneous deployment of seven aircraft carrier strike groups
(CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible
combat across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and
coalition military forces. Summer Pulse is the Navy's first deployment
under its new Fleet Response Plan (FRP). U.S. Navy photo by
