Arabian Gulf (20 July 2004) - An Airman assigned to Air Department's V-2 division looks on as an F/A-18B Hornet assigned to the "Blue Blasters" of Strike Fighter Squadron Three Four (VFA-34) takes off as the USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) steams through the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition, Kennedy is currently supporting Summer Pulse 2004. Summer Pulse 2004 is the simultaneous deployment of seven carrier strike groups (CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat capability across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and coalition military forces.
