Pacific Ocean (Aug. 28, 2004) -- A catapult shooter launches an F/A-18C
Hornet off the bow of the conventionally powered aircraft carrier USS
Kitty Hawk (CV 63). Catapult Shooters are responsible for the safe and
incident-free launch of all aircraft aboard aircraft carriers.
Currently under way in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR),
Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S.
Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating
