Persain Gulf (March 30, 2006) -- An F/A-18E Super Hornet from the "Fighting Redcocks" of Strike Fighter Squadron Two Two (VFA-22) makes its final approach aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), following a reconnaissance mission. Hornets carry the Shared Reconnaissance Pod (SHARP), the latest technology in tactical reconnaissance systems. Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) has used the system while embarked aboard Reagan.  Reagan and Carrier Airwing Fourteen (CVW-14) are currently deployed as part of a routine rotation of U.S. maritime forces in support of the global war on terrorism as well as conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in the region.
