Pacific Ocean (June 27, 2004) - An F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the "Eagles" of Strike Fighter Squadron One One Five (VFA-115) launches from one of four steam-powered catapults aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are currently on a scheduled deployment during Summer Pulse 2004. Summer Pulse 2004 is the simultaneous deployment of seven aircraft strike groups (CSGs), demonstrating the ability of the Navy to provide credible combat across the globe, in five theaters with other U.S., allied, and coalition military forces.
