Indian Ocean (Aug. 24, 2006) -- Lt. Cmdr. Keith Demetriades launches a
C-2A Greyhound assigned to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron three Zero
(VRC-30) off the flight deck of the conventional powered aircraft
carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). The Greyhound is the principal aircraft
for COD (Carrier On-board Delivery) of personnel and material.
Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility, Kitty Hawk
demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only
permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier. U.S. Navy photo by Mass
