Aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) Oct. 21, 2003 -- Aviation Warfare Systems Operator 2nd Class Matthew Wittman, from Murrieta, Calif., checks the oil level of an SH-60F Seahawk tail rotor gearbox on the flight deck aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). This is one of the helicopter anti-submarine squadron's pre-flight checks.  Currently undergoing sea trials, Kitty Hawk recently completed an extensive five-month maintenance period in Yokosuka, Japan.  Kitty Hawk is America's oldest active warship, and the world's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Jason R.
