A U.S. Air Force KC-10A Extender refuels a KC-135R Stratotanker at sunset over the Adriatic Sea during an Operation Allied Force mission, Apr. 16, 1999.  Tankers are critical to ongoing operation as they allow fighters and cargo aircraft to accomplish their missions by extending their range.  The KC-10A Extender is from McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey, the KC-135R is based at RAF Mildenhall, England.  (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Greg L.
