A KC-135 Stratotanker from Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, taxis to the runway at Royal Air Force Fairford, England, April 28, 1999.  The Stratotanker's principal mission is air refueling, which greatly enhances the U.S. Air Force's capability to accomplish its mission of Global Engagement.  It also provides aerial refueling support to U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and allied aircraft.  B-52H, B-1B and KC-135R aircraft and support personnel are forward deployed to RAF Fairford in support of Operation Allied Force.  (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Jeff Fitch.)
