7th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR) (Feb. 21, 2004) -- An EA-6B
Prowler assigned to the "Gauntlets" of Electronic Warfare Squadron One
Three Six (VAQ-136), practices a "touch and go" landing aboard the
aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63). A "touch and go" landing
allows the aircraft to land on the flight deck and then immediately
take off by without deploying the aircrafts tail hook. "Touch and
Go" landings are a normal part of carrier qualifications naval flight
crews. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility
(AOR), Kitty Hawk is America's oldest active warship, and the first of
the modern "super carriers" commissioned in 1961. U.S. Navy photo by
