SAN DIEGO (May 28, 2009) -- An EA-6B Prowler assigned to the "Cougars" of Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron (VAQ) 139 is waved off just before landing aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).The primary mission of the Prowler is suppression of enemy air defenses in support of strike aircraft and ground troops by interrupting enemy electronic activity. The aircraft also obtains tactical electronic intelligence.
