Central Command Area of Responsibility (Jun. 4, 2003) -- Personnel
assigned to the “Dragonfires” of Sea Control Squadron
Twenty Nine (VS-29) begin start-up checks on an S-3B Viking on the
flight deck aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz Carrier Strike
Force and Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) are deployed in support of
Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to
liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass
destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein. U.S.
