Pacific Ocean (May 22, 2004) - An S-3B Viking assigned to the "Fighting Redtails" of Sea Control Squadron Twenty One (VS-21), taxis onto catapult four in preparation for launch aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), following the Kitty Hawk's annual spring cruise. The S-3B Viking is a multi-mission aircraft specializing in anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare, plus aerial refueling. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), the conventional aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the world's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
