Persian Gulf (June 1, 2005) -- Two S-3B Vikings assigned to the
"Screwbirds" of Sea Control Squadron Three Three (VS-33), perform a
fly-by of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70),
to signify the official change of command of the squadron. Cmdr. Ian
Vatet relieved Cmdr. Willam Nolan as commanding officer of the
squadron. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed in
support of multi-national forces in Iraq and maritime security
operations in order to set the conditions for security and stability in
the region. Vinson will end its deployment with a homeport shift to
Norfolk, Va., and commence a three-year refuel and complex overhaul.
