Yokota Air Base, Japan (AFPN)- Airmen First Class Michael Cochran, a
maintenance personnel from the 30th Airlift Squadron scrubs dirt off
the horizontal stabilizer of a C-9 aircraft from inside the basket of a
bucket truck during it's quarterly wash here. They use paint safe
detergent to wash the aircraft which also prevent corrosion. The 30th
AS is responsible for the rapid movement of casualities and personnel
within the western Pacific theater during time of war. Readiness
for the mission is validated during peacetime through continuous
training and equipment readiness required for routine and emergency
