Onslow Beach, N.C. (Jun. 9, 2004) - Marines assigned to the 24th Marine
Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU) load Landing Assault Vehicles (LAV's)
onto a Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) for transport to the
amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). Kearsarge is surged
deployed to transport elements of the 24th MEU Air Combat Element to
the Central Command Area of Responsibility in support of Operation
