North Arabian Gulf (July 6, 2004) - Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) frame the amphibious assault ship USS Belleau Wood (LHA 3) on the horizon, while U.S. Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) off-load equipment and vehicles in Kuwait. The Belleau Wood Expeditionary Strike Group Three (ESG-3) provides fleet and joint force commanders with a readily available, configurable force, capable of projecting power from the sea.
