U.S. Marines from the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune,
N.C., are on patrol at the port in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on March 6,
2004. U.S. troops are deploying to Haiti at the request of the
new President of Haiti to help promote the constitutional political
process, to create conditions for the arrival of the U.N. multinational
