AL ASAD, Iraq--LIFE 1 and LIFE 2, field ambulances, sit ready if the call comes to deliver injured to departing aircraft.  Close to 30 sailors make up the Marine Wing Support Squadrons 271 medical unit providing care for more than 1,200 Marines and sailors here.  They utilize radiography equipment and have the ability to perform laboratory tests, issue medications, and provide the majority of preventive medicine for the forward operating bases of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
